Historic Registration through Adelaide Jeep Club.
What is Historic Registration?

Owners of historic or left-hand drive vehicles 25 years or older can access reduced car registration fees under the conditional registration scheme.

To be eligible, owners must be a financial member of an approved motor vehicle club, keep a log of each trip, and not hire out or be paid a fee for the use of the vehicle.

The scheme allows owners to drive their historic vehicle within South Australia up to 90 days during any 12-month registration period

What is the Adelaide Jeep Club’s requirements for obtaining Historic Registration through them?

Applicant must be a financial member of Adelaide Jeep Club.

Applicant must pay $20 per logbook (3 year expiry on logbooks)

Applicant must own or be a part owner of a registered Jeep or other 4WD vehicle.

Applicant must attend 2 AJC meetings or events per year to maintain eligibility.

How do I apply?

Be a financial member of the Adelaide Jeep Club.
Currently $70 per year. (12 months. August to July) -
Pay $20 via Direct Deposit or in person for your logbook – this must be issued to you in person.

Meet with an “Authorised Person” of the club, presenting the actual Vehicle OR complete our Statutory Declaration:

Complete the MR344 application form in person – We supply these forms.
This and the logbook need to be signed and stamped. -
Present the completed, signed and stamped MR344 form along with a registration application form (MR1) and any exemption certificates at Service SA and pay their fee.
What info do I need to supply?
Before you meet with the club’s Authorising Persons, make sure you have current Adelaide Jeep Club membership, and all the following vehicle details required for the application:

Make, model, year of manufacture

Plate number

Engine number
-
Chassis number
-
Driver’s licence number
-
Exemption certificates (where applicable, eg LHD and Street Rod vehicles)

Present the actual Vehicle OR hand in our completed Statutory Declaration:

When can I have my vehicle inspected and/or hand in the Statutory Declaration and get the paperwork signed and stamped?

Stat. Decs. can be submitted at any monthly meeting or event, but applicants should really check there is an Authorised Person available at the time to process paperwork.
Otherwise there will be delays and practical issues with getting two signatures on the official paperwork and getting it back to you. -
2 monthly meetings evenly spaced out during the year will be officially set up and announced with the Authorised Persons available to sign off on the day.
